Description

This 35-day Baruntse expedition is a great opportunity to start climbing in the Himalayas. Besides, you can get stunning views of the highest mountains in the world.

Baruntse (7129 m) is inside Sagarmatha National Park, a protected area in eastern Nepal**.** It lies in the centre of three glacial valleys: the Hunku Glacier, the Barun Glacier and the Imja Glacier.

It is one of the easiest peaks to climb at 7000 meters. Because of that, it’s an ideal training objective for those looking forward to reach higher altitudes.

One of the greatest rewards of climbing Baruntse are its wonderful views. In fact, from its summit you can admire some 8000 meters peaks, like Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8516 m) and Makalu (8481 m).

In this trip, I will take you through the south-east ridge climbing route, which involves some technical challenges. There are difficult sections of ice at 50 degrees as well as a steep ice cliff to climb.

I recommend spring as the best and safer season to climb this mountain. However, there’s a chance of reaching the summit during autumn too.

For further details about the itinerary of this Baruntse expedition you can find the complete program below.

Please contact me if you want to be a part of this adventure. I am an experienced IFMGA local guide and will be happy to show you this beautiful spot in the Himalayas.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
