About the guide

I am a UIAGM mountain guide, ski instructor and sports teacher and the current president of the Slovenian Mountain Guide Association.

I am still the only guide who can make a living working exclusively in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country over 200 times.

If you want to climb or ski in Slovenian mountains I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, heliski, freeride skiing and ski touring.

Slovenia has good options for all of these activities, so you are welcome to take a look at my trips and find something for yourself. If you don't find anything let me know and I will see if I can help you!

I speak English. Ich sprache auch ein bischen Deutsch. Parla anche un pocho Italiano e abla tambien un po Espanol.

If I am not available to guide you, one of the super experienced guides in my team - Rok, Peter, Grega or Igor - will be your guide.

Our guide Luka did an amazing job! He was calm, confident and experienced. His support helped us achieve a brilliant climb up Triglav. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Too much snow and avalanche risk cancelled the climb to the top of Mt Triglav. However, Mitja Sorn Guiding Team provided alternate hiking and climbing options, which were challenging, exciting and safe.

Our guide was Martin Zumer and Martin did a wonderfull job. Martin's guiding is very professional and you feel always safe and in good hands. On the other hands Martin leaves you enough space to unfold your own abilities and ideas, not controlling more than is necessary for safety reasons. I personaly like this kind of approach. Martin took also great care for us after the touring, cooking in the winter room, helping us finding a good restaurant and accommodation. The whole group of five guests from Austria and Switzerland - all quite experienced and ambitious skiers - had a perfect experience during our four days tour. Thank you Martin!

Mitja is a great man. The only problem was that there was no fresh powder. For sure we’ll be back in Vogel.

Due to weather conditions, we had to go skiing in Nassfeld. We were very satisfied with the guidance, instructions and help from our guide/instructor Mitja. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in freeride skiing or ski touring in Slovenia, Italy, or Austria. Mitja is a great man and an excellent skier!

I’ve made a three day course with Uroš and couldn’t be happier. It was very fun, and with a great amount of informations. Uroš has a very extensive knowledge of snow, weather and mountaineering techniques, and it’s a great guy to chat to in the mountains too. The tours we made were a great testing ground and with the right amount of difficulties to test new skills. Highly recommend. *****

I had a great time climbing Mt Triglav with Urôs. It’s definitely been a climbing highlight for me, so I can recommend him and the company he works for. If you’re wanting a safe, well organised and friendly service, I don’t think you can look past these guys. I’d happily use Mitja and Urôs again.

Disliked this tour. And don't like the way the guys/guides are communicating.

Mitja was fantastic as a guide. Very communicative, accommodating, and always ensured you were doing alright. Weather was not the most pleasant but Mitja clearly knows the mountain very well and how to guide you safely up and down the mountain safely despite heavy snow and winds

Great service from both Explore-Share and Mitja Sorn Guiding Team. Mita introduced me to my Guide Uros who kept me up to date and informed about the climbing situation due to weather. Due to limited availability of time and good weather, we opted for a day climb. It was a very long day, but thoroughly enjoyable despite the limited views. Uros was very knowledgeable of Triglav and the national park and we had some great conversations. A fantastic experience and totally recommend Mitja and his guiding team. Thank you!
