Description

I invite you to an exciting freeride skiing journey in Vogel, one of the most famous ski resorts in Slovenia.

Vogel is inside Triglav National Park, at the heart of the Julian Alps.

This place offers many possibilities for off-piste skiing. In fact, I recommend it for experienced alpine skiers looking for a new challenge, and also for those who want to improve their skills in the snow.

This activity will take place in groups of max 7 people, upon request. A van will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the ski resort. It will also take you back when we finish.

We will ascent the mountain on a cableway. Then, we'll enjoy the freedom of skiing far from the arranged slopes.

Skiing will be from 9 AM to 4 PM. Besides, I will teach you some basic facts about avalanche rescue equipment and how to deal with it.

Please contact me if you want to go freeride skiing in Vogel. I'm sure we'll have a great time!

On the other hand, if you plan to stay in Slovenia for a while, you can join me for other adventures like ice climbing in Mount Triglav or even an amazing 8-day hut to hut ski tour.

About the guide

I am a UIAGM mountain guide, ski instructor and sports teacher and the current president of the Slovenian Mountain Guide Association.

I am still the only guide who can make a living working exclusively in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country over 200 times.

If you want to climb or ski in Slovenian mountains I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, heliski, freeride skiing and ski touring.

Slovenia has good options for all of these activities, so you are welcome to take a look at my trips and find something for yourself. If you don't find anything let me know and I will see if I can help you!

I speak English. Ich sprache auch ein bischen Deutsch. Parla anche un pocho Italiano e abla tambien un po Espanol.

If I am not available to guide you, one of the super experienced guides in my team - Rok, Peter, Grega or Igor - will be your guide.

We had an excellent day together with our guide. He really took care of everyone (different levels of fitness), he was very flexible in the arrangements beforehand and was a true expert on everything that has to do with mountain activities. Highly recommended to book one or more activities with these guys!

I have met Mitja in 2014 and have made more then 10 trips with him since then. Mostly we go on ski-touring trips in Slovenian Alps, among those the most epic was our 3-day traverse of Julian Alps, topped with winter ascent of Mt. Triglav (highest peak in Slovenia). Mitja is a very professional mountain guide, always cheerful and full of information. He is very aware of local conditions and can find best snow conditions, no matter what time of the season. Highly recommended for people who want to advance in their mountaineering skills or just have the best time in the mountains!
