I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide, ski instructor, and sports teacher.

I believe guides do their best job when they guide in the mountains they are most familiar with. That is one of the biggest reasons why I specialize in guiding in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country around 400 times.

If you want to climb or ski in the Slovenian mountains, I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, freeride skiing, and ski touring. Most of my summer work involves climbing Triglav, and most of my winter work involves Triglav and ski touring around it.

Slovenia offers good options for all of these activities, so you are welcome to take a look at my trips and find something for yourself. If you don't find anything, let me know, and I will see if I can help you!

Mitja was an incredible guide. He made the whole adventure fun, and motivated us all the way up the mountain.

Mitja was a wonderful guide from beginning to end. He led our group at a good pace to the hut and gave us great recommendations on the way. Most importantly, he made us feel safe during the via ferrata (it was our first time!) and helped us build some self-confidence. We climbed to the summit on day 1 and we were lucky to have the perfect weather conditions and a fantastic group of people. Weather can be unpredictable in the mountains so it was convenient to have a knowledgeable expert lead us who knows the mountain like Mitja. In addition to learning a lot about hiking and mountaineering, we got good insight into Slovenian culture thanks to Mitja which is only a bonus. We truly couldn’t have asked for a more encouraging guide that made us feel safe and enjoy the journey. What an incredible adventure!

Our guides were very professional and calm throughout our 2 day climb. They were very knowledgeable and trustworthy. They organised our food, accommodation and equipment needed for the climb. There was 1 guide for every 4 climbers in our group for the summit day which was great. The guides were very safety conscious and monitored the weather etc. Our guide learned our names easily and could even tell us apart (we are twins). This demonstrated the safety mindset.

Mitja is a thorough and knowledgable guide and I felt safe and well looked after during my two-day trip to summit Triglav.
I summited in January 2026 with a meter of snow on the summit ( there was snow all the way to the Dom), so as it was a technical ascent, good rope skills were essential.
We worked together really well and Mitja made sure all my needs were taken care of.

The expirience was everything you could ask for. The guide is beyond amazing, he knows everything about the mountains and is full of information, he is great at looking at the weather and is cautious about all the people that are going. I had an amazing experience climbing mt.triglav. It was my first real summit using via Ferrara and I am already planning my next adventure.
My guide Mitja was very knowledgeable in regards to the mountain and showed a real commitment to our safety, always checking the weather and had us make the summit in the perfect timing, weather was due to turn and it did right as we returned to our accomodation , All in all a great experience.
