Cesare Piazetta, Piz Boe, Guided Via Ferrata | Italy

Join an experienced certified local guide, on an exciting trip on the Cesare Piazetta via ferrata to the top of the beautiful Piz Boe in the Dolomites of Italy.

Dolomite Mountains

1 Day

Jun - Sep

The Piz Boe (3,152m) is a fantastic peak in the Sella Group in the Dolomites of Italy. In fact it is the highest peak in the entire Sella Group massif. And on this day trip you will get to reach the top by way of the thrilling and incredibly scenic Cesare  Piazetta via ferrata.

Like all via ferratas, the Cesare Piazetta via ferrata is an exciting, unforgettable experience. It will feel like you are walking on the walls of the mountain itself. And while such a concept can seem frightening at first, you can rest assured that you will be safe and secure at all times.

This trip will last between 4 and 6 hours. And every minute of the way you will get to admire the beauty of the Sella Group massif and the Dolomite mountain range.

Beginning at Passo Pordoi, we will make our way along a hiking trail until we reach the start of the Cesare Piazetta via ferrata. Once the via ferrata begins, the first 100 meters or so are demanding. As a result, it is important that participants on this trip are in good physical condition. As the day progresses, the via ferrata will get easier. Hence giving you more time to appreciate the priceless views. And when you get to  the top of the Piz Boe, you will get to enjoy the best views of all.

If you like adventure and fantastic views of great peaks, this trip is for you. So send me a request and enjoy the Cesare Piazetta via ferrata. I look forward to hearing from you.

I can also lead you on the oldest via ferrata in the Sella Group, the Mesules via ferrata on this day trip.

Renato & Guides' team

Mountain Guide

Hi! I'm Renato, IFMGA guide from the Dolomites, and I work together with my colleagues Robert, Bruno, Patrick, Benedetta & Walter (German speaking). If I'm not available to guide you, one of them will take care of you.

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

What people are saying about Renato & Guides' team

On our meeting day the forecast was for a foggy day. Renato was a professional and decided not to go full on off pist, not only that he was very creative and found a way to help us practice some great techniques, while still finding some nice fresh snow and a lot of fun. Exactly what I expected when I was looking for a mountain guide, some to enjoy with, that on the same time will be responsible and reasonable. He is super experienced- instructing the local mountain guides on their training.

Our Guide was cold and distant and not sensitive to our needs. We are older women who wanted to go slow. She tried to convince us not to do the Via Ferrata because she thought we couldn’t handle it. Not true. I went through it and absolutely loved it. I took my time, and she seemed very rushed. The trip I had scheduled was canceled because of a problem with the route being closed. We had to do a different via Ferrara. That was OK. I wanted to take my time. Enjoy the scenery and she was hurry. Hurry hurry us. When we got to The Via Ferrata, she said there was no way we could handle it and that we shouldn’t go. I thoroughly enjoyed my climb, but my friend felt so pressured and uncomfortable by our guide not to go that she turned back. Unfortunate but I had a fabulous climb. (The tour was guided by certified mountain guide Benny)

I had an amazing climbing experience through Renato & guides! My guide, Robert, was great. He was very helpful beforehand making sure I had all the information I needed before we met. He also chose a perfect route that was suitable at my level climbing multipitch for the first time. The whole trip I felt safe and in great hands with Robert. He was even very patient with me when I could not tie a girth hitch after trying over and over. When I return to the Dolomites next I will definitely be scheduling directly through you guys again. If I hear of anyone else traveling to the Dolomites that wants to climb I would also highly recommend them to use your guide service and to ask specifically for Robert!

Robert was a fantastic guide! We had no via ferrata experience and we were able to complete an intermediate one with his help, would highly recommend.

Awesome guide. We had a great day of climbing!
