Description

The classic alpine traverse known as Haute Route, is waiting for you to cross it from the breathtaking heights of the Mont Blanc in Chamonix, France, to the unique landscapes viewable from the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Zwitzerland.

You and your splitboard could be part of my version of this well-known route, connecting western Europe’s heighest peak, Mont Blanc (4810m), to the pyramid-shaped Matterhorn (4478m).

The suggested program is this: to spend 8 days ascending and descending more than 20 glaciers and thousands of meters of slopes covered by the most pure snow. To overnight in comfy lodges and huts specially designed to pamper you after a long day of splitboarding. And to take home impressive mental images (and actual pictures) of this paradise.

The route will probably surprise us with narrow ridges and steep ascents, but you will be taken care of. I will guide you from day one of this adventure. You just have to make sure that you have a strong background splitboarding and advanced technical skills in this activity.

Come along! Book this program and get a front row ticket to see one of nature’s most incredible settings.

I can also guide you in this 6-day splitboarding tour in Lyngen Alps, Norway.

About the guide

I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide and I'm passionated about nature. I was born in 1977 and before entering in the mountain life, I worked as a teacher in Borg Lienz.

I started training as a canyoning guide 15 years ago. Since 2009, I have also trained with canyoning leaders in Carinthia. Additionally, I have been on the road as a mountain and ski instructor. During the summers, I have guided a lot in Switzerland, where I took my guests to many mountains over 4000 meters high. My “motto” in the mountains and in life has always been the same: “Never stop exploring”

I work now for Carnicoalpin where our main objective is leading and accompanying you on steep mountains and great ski slopes with a particular focus set on safety.

For more information, please feel free to contact me. We can discuss about your wishes and the different options I offer. I will be really happy to be your guide and share a great moment with you!

Tobias was great! Professional and nice, he brings a lot of good energy to the experience. He does indeed know every rock on the Matterhorn, truly impressive! This was my first time using explore-share, and it was pretty good. 4 stars to them. If they can improve communication and make the website a little more user friendly I think it would be a 5. All told it was a great experience, and I will definitely use them again and have already recommended Tobias to a friend.

Tobias is a great mountain guide! He’s really nice, and he knew the Hörnligrad on the Matterhorn really well. I also felt safe climbing with him. The weather worked out great for me when I climbed the Matterhorn, but if it didn’t, the back ups Tobias does are awesome climbs too. He’s also willing to try bending his schedule to accommodate for weather if needed.

I can highly recommend Tobias, he has been a fantastic guide from start to finish, he is very knowledgeable and would quickly answer any questions I had before arrival which was helpful when planning my trip. Upon meeting Tobias had a good chat and explained the plan for the following day and checked through my equipment giving good advice. We climbed the Matterhorn, I felt safe during the entire climb, Tobias seemed to know every rock on the route which proved useful in keeping the climb efficient. We summited and got back down in a good time, all while feeling safe and in good hands. I highly recommend picking Tobias as your guide!

Tobias is the perfect Matterhorn guide - he knows every single rock on the Hörnligrat and has summited the Matterhorn 127 times. He trained me up for a few days beforehand, and we quickly made the ascent. He made mature and safe decisions, and seemed to be respected by the other guides and Hornlihutte managers.

A Transformative Journey with Tobias: Conquering the Matterhorn I recently had the incredible opportunity to fulfill my lifelong dream of climbing the magnificent Matterhorn, and I owe every bit of that experience to my exceptional guide, Tobias. Words cannot express the immense gratitude I have for his unwavering support and unparalleled expertise throughout this awe-inspiring adventure. From the very beginning, it was clear that Tobias shared my passion for the Matterhorn. His genuine excitement and deep knowledge of the mountain resonated with me, igniting a sense of anticipation and wonder. He understood the significance of this dream for me and made it his mission to ensure its realization. Guiding climbers up the Matterhorn requires more than just technical skill; it demands an intimate understanding of the mountain and its ever-changing conditions. Tobias possessed an unrivaled knowledge of the Matterhorn and its intricate routes. His expertise brought a sense of security, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the breathtaking beauty surrounding us, knowing that we were in the safest of hands. Throughout the journey, Tobias proved to be not just a guide, but a true mentor. His encouragement and unwavering belief in my abilities gave me the strength to overcome both physical and mental challenges along the way. He knew exactly when to push me beyond my comfort zone and when to offer words of reassurance, instilling in me a newfound confidence and resilience. Tobias's unwavering strength, both physically and mentally, was nothing short of remarkable. The arduous climb demanded incredible endurance, and he effortlessly led the way, setting a pace that ensured our progress while ensuring our safety. His unwavering determination and unwavering spirit served as a constant inspiration, motivating me to push myself further than I ever thought possible. Beyond his technical expertise and physical prowess, Tobias's genuine care for his clients truly set him apart. He took the time to understand my individual needs and tailored his guidance accordingly. His attentiveness and empathy created a supportive environment that allowed me to fully embrace the challenges and triumphs of the climb. In the end, it was not just the summit of the Matterhorn that left an indelible mark on me; it was the journey itself and the profound impact of Tobias's guidance. He transformed a dream into a reality, creating an experience that surpassed all expectations. If you're seeking an exceptional guide who possesses an intimate knowledge of the Matterhorn, unwavering support, and an unwavering commitment to your success, I wholeheartedly recommend Tobias. With him by your side, you'll not only conquer the Matterhorn but also embark on a life-changing adventure that will stay with you forever.

All that was expected and more. Tobias (my guide) is a professional and earned my trust from the beginning. He was very helpful in the preparation and planning for the trip answering all questions leading up to the climb. Tobias gave insightful information on how to train beforehand and acclimatize upon arrival in Zermatt. This paid dividends as it set me up for success the day of the Matterhorn ascent. I felt safe throughout the entire 7-hour experience and am thankful to have been set up with such an outstanding steward of the profession. Would strongly recommend this trip and getting linked in with Tobias if your goal is to climb the Matterhorn.
