Would you like to enjoy a thrilling mountaineering adventure in South America? Then come to Huaraz, Peru, and join me for an unforgettable ascent to the top of Nevado Pisco, in the Cordillera Blanca!
The Cordillera Blanca is a mountain range that belongs to the Peruvian Andes. It stretches for 200km and includes huge snow-capped peaks, more than 700 glaciers, and beautiful deep-blue colored lakes. Protected by the Huascarán National Park, established in 1975, it is the most extensive tropical range in the world.
On this 3-day mountaineering tour, we will climb Nevado Pisco (5,752m), one of the popular peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. Standing about 60 km north of Huaraz, the capital of the Ancash Region, this impressive mountain belongs to the multi-peaked massif of Huandoy.
The first day, we will hike through the Cebollapampa Valley to the Peru mountain hut, which lies at Pisco’s Base Camp. Then, the next will be summit day: after crossing a stunning glacial moraine we will reach the top of Nevado Pisco. Once there, we will enjoy superb views dominated by the Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Artesonraju and Alpamayo peaks!
Furthermore, our trip includes two nights at a charming Peru mountain Hut. We will rest surrounded by a unique landscape and enjoy delicious dishes.
Please keep in mind that this alpine adventure requires a good fitness level and acclimatization. We will hike more than 10 hours with a 900m elevation gain. In addition, you should also have some winter mountaineering experience. For more information about the tour, you can check out the itinerary below.
