Description

If you are looking for a challenging ascent in South America, this trip is for you! Join me and reach the summit of the Olivares Central (6200m), one of the most beautiful and unexplored mountains of the Central Andes!

Located in San Juan Province, near the town of Rodeo, the Olivares Central is also known as Cumbre de la Majadita. This Argentinian peak was one of the last over-6000m peaks in the Andes to be climbed (1965), and its very popular among courageous mountaineers.

On this 9-day trip we will cross some beautiful glaciers and enjoy a real alpine experience. Furthermore, we will revel in the panoramic views of the Andes, the longest continental mountain range in the world!

Although this is not a technically hard ascent, you do need a good fitness level! Of course, I will be there to help and guide you.

So, if you are up for an amazing mountaineering tour away from the crowds, please get in touch with me. Let’s get to the top of the Olivares Central, in San Juan, Argentina!

And if you are looking for a hiking adventure in this same area, take a look at my Cerro Bauchazeta trip!

Mountain Leader

I'm EGMSJ Guide and San Guillermo National Park Guide, from San Juan, Argentina.
I have WFR and Sesvi 4x4 certified.

I’ve been doing rock climbing and mountaineering for more than 15 years, here in Cordillera de los Andes mostly and in other places like Patagonia, Australia, New Zealand, Chile.

I love the idea of verticality and how to find the horizontality on this plane.

So, if you like hiking, rock climbing or mountaineering and you are thinking for a new place in Cordillera de los Andes, I can show you some beautiful places. :)

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
