  • Enjoy the stunning scenery of the alpine subrange.
  • Get a bit of a workout in with an intermediate-level climb.

Description

Situated a few kilometers north of Cortina d’Ampezzo, Punta Fiames is among the most popular via ferrata routes in the area!

Also known as the ‘Michielli-Strobel’, this iron path takes climbers all the way up to the summit of the 2.240-meter high peak, providing excellent views of the surrounding splendor of the Dolomites as you go.

The fun begins shortly after we meet up at the Hotel Fiames, with a brief 30 minute hike to the beginning of the via ferrata. The climb itself is a classic and not very challenging, but is still considered an intermediate route with a 600-meter vertical climbing section and some exposed parts.

The via ferrata heads up the  western face of the peak and it takes about two hours to reach the summit. From the top, there are stunning views out over the entire Cortina Valley, including the summits of Antelao and Cristallo.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this fun and scenic 1-day via ferrata ascent of  Punta Fiames in the Dolomites above Cortina d’Ampezzo!

We had such a great trip! We felt incredibly safe with Mauro even during some intense, crowded moments up on the peak. All in all, we had a great experience!

Our dolomites experience was amazing! Mauro was really nice and patient with me and my wife. We changed our itinerary on the last day of dolomites as the via ferrata on piz boe would have been too difficult, instead we did a smaller one on Mauro's suggestion.
