Description

As intimidating as it is beautiful, Copachico (5,645m) is a great peak and a great climb. And it would be my pleasure to guide you to its summit during this 5 day adventure.

Beginning in Huaraz (3,100m), the trip will take us to the town of Carhuaz (2,600m). From there, we will visit Hualcan (2,950m) and Shonquilpampa (3,550m). Visiting these places will ensure that you are properly acclimatized for the ascent of Copachico.

Along with those aforementioned places, we will also visit Shonquilpampa (3,550m). We will not only spend the night, we will also practice some climbing in the area as well, before making our way to the Laguna Rajupaquinan (3,900m), where you can gaze at the beautiful turquoise water. Following the laguna, and more climbing practice at Rajupaquinan (3,950m), we will make our way to the Copachico Base camp (4,650m). The following day, we will make our way to the summit (5,645m) by scaling the peak’s icy walls. From the summit you will get to enjoy some spectacular views of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. After returning to the Base camp, and spending another night, we will then make our way back to Huaraz. Thus concluding the adventure.

Price details

Along with the guiding fee, the price also includes camping equipment, meals, group climbing equipment, porters and transportation, but does not include airfare, bus tickets to and from Lima to Huaraz, food in restaurants in Hauraz and gratuities.
