I would like to invite you to take a route along the coast and across the surroundings of Mount Pelée, in the beautiful island of Martinique. Follow me on this 1-day program and explore amazing natural spots!
On this hiking program, we’ll go from Le Prêcheur to Grand-Rivère, on the northern side of the island. We’ll follow an old path that was used in the last century to connect the two towns. Some traces of the trail will appear on the way.
This hike will take us through several types of landscapes and we’ll discover beaches, cliffs, crystal-clear rivers and luxurious vegetation. Breathtaking views of the Caribbean coast will surround us at all times. Some of the places that we’ll visit include Anse Couleuvre, Anse Levrier, Anse à Voile and Anse à Celle.
In addition, we’ll go across a forest and contemplate an amazing sight of the island. Then, we’ll reach a clearing and get to see Anse des Galets. After crossing a tunnel, we’ll descend to the Tros Bras River and then ascend to Petit Morne.
As for the hike details, we’ll spend 6 hours walking and cover a distance of 16 kilometers. Also, we’ll face an elevation gain of around 800 meters. We’ll start at 8 am on foot and return on a boat ride. This program is open to all types of participants, so it’s not necessary to have prior experience. It’s perfect to enjoy with your children!
So, does this day hike sound exciting? Then all you need to do is send the request and book your place. It will be a pleasure for me to guide you across the incredible island of Martinique!
I also lead these easy hiking trips in La Caravelle peninsula and Canal de Beauregard, both in Martinique. Check them out!
