Climb Japan’s highest peak, Mount Fuji, on a classic summer ascent timed for sunrise from the summit.
Starting from the 5th Station, we ascend gradually through volcanic terrain to a mountain hut, where we rest before an early alpine start under the stars. Reaching the top at dawn, we witness the iconic Goraikō sunrise above the clouds before descending back to the trailhead.
This is a non-technical but physically demanding hike, ideal for fit beginners and experienced hikers alike. The trip includes professional guiding, hut accommodation, and a well-paced itinerary designed to maximize safety, comfort, and the summit experience.

Meeting point
Start from the 5th Station (2,300 m) and hike steadily up the Yoshida Trail. Pass through forest and volcanic terrain, reaching a mountain hut at the 7th–8th Station in 4–6 hours. Dinner and early rest to prepare for the summit push.
Pre-dawn departure (around 1–2 AM) under headlamp to reach the summit of Mount Fuji for sunrise. After enjoying the views, descend via the Yoshida Trail back to the 5th Station, arriving late morning to early afternoon.

You should be comfortable hiking uphill continuously for 1–2 hours, capable of completing hikes with around 1,500 m of elevation gain over a weekend, and in good overall physical condition.
Previous hiking experience at altitudes between 2,000 and 3,000 meters is helpful, but not required.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger.
