This 1-day hike I will lead you on promises to make you fall in love with this part of Slovakia, as we traipse and travail around the High Tatras National Park to reach our destination of the chalet at the mesmerizing, stunning and alluring Green Lake, a fascinating sight that is surrounded by majestic mountainous terrain, vast tracts of forest and vegetation, and more of the peaceful Slovakian countryside.
The High Tatras National Park is located in North Central Slovakia, and is renowned for its richly biodiverse range of flora and fauna, as well as its myriad of mountains, lakes, streams and caves.
Our adventure begins in the nearby village of Tatranska Lomnica, and from there we head straight in to the hiking.
Along the way we will encounter some absolutely gorgeous scenery, with the native wildflowers of the region spread out over massive fields and meadows, and clear streams and waterways adding to the idyllic ambience.
The towering, rugged and rocky mountains that loom above provide a lovely and dramatic backdrop to proceedings, and once we reach the green lake there will be ample time to admire its lovely colour and truly impressive surroundings.
After much time at the lake we then head back to the starting point, where our trip finishes, hopefully having given you some outstanding memories and a need to come back and explore more of this sensational part of Slovakia.
This is one of the loveliest ways to spend a 1-day in Slovakia – book now to see the best this great country has to offer!

My name is Jakub Tomaškovič and I live in picturesque village in the hearth of the Belianske Tatras called Ždiar. I studied ecology at the Institute of High Mountain Biology and I am also an UIMLA-certified Mountain Leader, with many secrets to tell you about Slovakia and the Carpathians. We can do hikes on marked trails, saddle passes or several-day tours, like hut to hut trips in Slovakia, but we can also plan some trips abroad.
In the winter we can go hiking with snowshoes or go for a ski mountaineering tour. Slovakia has many treasures to explore, and you can experience them on your own with me. Let's go out and enjoy nature with all its surprises. I am looking forward to meeting you!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
