Description
Seeking fresh and demanding climbs? Mickey’s Beach offers a bundle of tough and technical sports climbing in the whole region of San Francisco.
Yet the beach also provides simple and non-technical climbs that are naturally suitable for beginners.
The majority of the rock climbing takes place on the beach, with warm calm sands and choppy waves from the Pacific Ocean. Actually, some of the climbs depend on the behavior of the tide.
The beach can also be quite windy at times, which tests your balance and adds a bit of an extra dimension to the climbs.
As well as quality rock climbs, Mickey’s Beach is also home to some great bouldering. In 1986, the area to the west of the central rock, which was connected to the hillside, split and fell into the surf before breaking into smaller chunks.
An extra bit of information may be useful to you, which is that Mickey’s Beach is a well-known destination for groups of nudists.

I really loved it. Intro to rock climbing was an amazing experience. Explore-share team were so helpful in the process. Poor service from Explore-share! The vendor who provided the actual tour shared with Explore-share that heavy rains prevented them from doing a substantial section of the tour. I was not notified. The vendor also offered a substantial discount for what we were able to do and this was not shared with me either!

Neil was our guide and he was amazing! We did Camelback mountain climbing and he knew all about it and the other nearby mountains. Lots of great info and fun. I took my two boys, 9 and 11 years old plus climbed myself (44 years old). So perfect for all ages and skill levels. Definitely worth doing!!!

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
