Do you want to learn the basics or improve your rock climbing skills? Then join me! Let’s go to the Adel Climbing Gym, in northern Italy, for a special indoor course for beginners.
The Dolomite Mountains are famous for their mountaineering, skiing and outdoor climbing options. However, in this region, we can also find modern and well-equipped gyms where you can practice rock climbing regardless of the weather.
The Adel Climbing Gym is located in Campitello di Fassa, next to the Col Rodella lift station. Its name is a tribute to four rescuers who died in an avalanche at Val Lasties, in 2009: Alessandro Dantone, Diego Perathoner, Erwin Riz and Luca Prinoth.
With brand new and innovative structures, this spot offers amazing opportunities for indoor climbing and bouldering. On this course we will work on equipment usage, security advice and technical movements! This course is suitable for anyone: you don’t need previous rock climbing experience.

What is the best way to reach the meeting point and move around in the Dolomites?
We strongly recommend renting a car to explore the Dolomites. Public transport is not as frequent as in a city. Being independent is key because meeting points are often early in the morning and can be hard to reach.

Hi! I'm Renato, IFMGA guide from the Dolomites, and I work together with my colleagues Robert, Patrick & Walter (German speaking), Paolo, Matteo, Davide, Giorgia and Luca.
If I'm not available to guide you, one of them will take care of you.
I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.
Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.
My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Davide was great! Very competent and have the perfect amount of instruction, not too much and not too little, which I loved. Yet, he gave me enough space to figure out my own steps in the steep sections going up and down, and I really appreciated that.
