Type of Trip
If you’re an advanced mountaineer and would like to spend 1 week learning and practicing in the French and Italian Alps, you can’t miss this chance. Follow me on this program and enjoy the best mountaineering in Chamonix.
The following are some of the contents that we’ll see during the course: belaying techniques, moving on mixed terrains, anchors in snow and ice, route planning, rope techniques and rescue systems. By the end of the program, you’ll be able to plan your climbs and execute them with safety using all the incorporated skills.
First of all, we’ll meet in Chamonix or Argentière at 5 pm and have a short trip briefing. On day 2, we’ll focus on rock skills, such as short pitching, anchors and rappelling. Day 3 will be the day of ice climbing around an alpine hut. On days 4-6, we’ll go for different climbs that will allow to practice and learn by putting our skills to action. Finally, on day 7, we’ll take a route near the hut and descend to the valley.
Regarding requirements, take into account that the program is for advanced participants with background experience on rock and ice. Also, it’s a demanding course, so it’s mandatory to have a very good level of fitness.

If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).
