Description

Vallunaraju (5,686m) is an incredible peak in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru. And, during this 8-day expedition you will get to climb to the summit of this snowy peak, while also visiting a number of amazing places in the breathtaking Peruvian mountain range.

The Vallunaraju Peak is located in the Huascaran National Park. From the summit of the peak, you will get to see a number of the country’s most famous, and largest peaks, including Huascaran (6,768m), which is the highest peak in all of Peru.

Our trip will begin in the Lima Airport. From there, you will spend a night in a comfortable hotel in the capital city. On the following day, we will take a bus ride to the beautiful town of Huaraz, where we will spend the night. In Huaraz, we will spend time on the third day hiking around, which will help get you properly acclimatized. On day 4, we will make our way through the Quebrada Llaca before reaching the Llaca Refuge, where we will spend the night. For the next few days, we will ascend Vallunaraju, slowly progressing up the peak, while spending 2 nights in various camps higher up the mountain before reaching the summit on the sixth day. After that, we will return to Huaraz and then Lima.

While this is not an excessively difficult climb, participants on this trip should nonetheless have prior climbing experience. You should also be in good physical condition.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
