Purple Knob backcountry skiing tour in Kananaskis, Day Trip from Canmore

Brent was amazing! He gave me a great experience, taught me new techniques, made me feel safe, and catered my experience to exactly what I wanted. This was by far my favorite part of my whole vacation to the area!

Brent taught us to lead climb at a local crag. It was a great time and I’d recommend it to anyone regardless of climbing skill level. He’s open to teaching or guiding wherever you want to go.

Brent was competent and I felt had the qualifications to keep us safe rock climbing. But, compared to other guides we have had (one the day before in via ferrata) Brent seemed disinterested in us and was not as engaged in teaching. He fulfilled the requirements, but I would not rebook or recommend based on our experience.

Brent was an amazing guide. Knowledgeable, personable, safe and a great communicator. He communicated very well with us leading up to the trip and executed the trip flawlessly. Id highly recommend Brent if you are looking for an guide in the back country.

We were 3 days with Brent in the mountains. Brent is an excellent guide and knows the mountains very well. We were there where no other people were so we had the mountains to ourselves. So if Brent has time definitely book him we can highly recommend him.

This week with Brent at the Ymir Lodge was an unforgettable experience. We learned a lot inside the "classroom" and outside on the slopes. We were able to explore the mountain with the new information and test our decision-making in a guided setting. Brent did an amazing job making sure we were fed, stimulated, and safe. His tracks were complimented throughout the week and he really proved his ability to navigate through the terrain when he guided us, on our request, back to civilization instead of taking the helicopter back.

My partner and I had an incredibly memorable day climbing with Brent! His expertise is unparalleled and he tailored our trip based on our abilities. Most importantly, he made sure we were safe and enjoying our climb throughout the day. I look forward to climbing with Brent again and would highly recommend him as a guide for anyone exploring the area!
