Rising in northern California is the dominant peak of Mount Diablo, which measures 3,849 feet.
Once scaled, the summit of Mount Diablo offers spectacular panoramic vistas, including of the eastern bay area of San Francisco.
The mountain separates the ranges and valleys of the Coast Ranges, from the San Joaquin River to the great Central Valley.
It is shaped like a volcano and has 2 summits, rising approximately 25 miles away from San Francisco.
The majority sandstorm rocks provide dozens of different routes to take with varying difficulty, so finding a climbing route suited to your own level of ability is an easy task.
We can find anything from trad climbing to bouldering on Mount Diablo.
Due to the vast surrounding land being flat, Mount Diablo is visible from many miles around. It is said to hold the world’s second farthest-ranged view after Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
There is a 15-mile road that winds along and scales up the mountain all the way to the summit. There are also numerous trails that zigzag throughout the mountain, cutting through grassy terrain that opens up great views of the surrounding landscape.
When it comes to rock climbing, the southwest terrain is much steeper as well as the northeast. It features plenty of rock outcrops that are excellent for scrambling.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
