Located just a short drive northwest out of Chattanooga, the Tennessee Wall is a giant, orange colored sandstone cliff. Stretching for approximately 2 miles, the wall is as diverse as it is stunning. Filled with cracks, aretes, dihedrals and several overhanging walls, it is a climber’s paradise. And, people can enjoy it all year round. However, fall, winter and spring are the best and most popular times to enjoy it.

There are plenty of great routes ideal for both trad climbing and spot climbing. In fact, there are approximately 600 different routes you can choose from.

The Tennessee Wall is located in the Prentice Cooper State Forest. As a result, either before or after your climbing adventure, you can enjoy some wonderful hikes. There are also several campsites in the area as well that are perfect for people who want to spend a night under the stars.
