Description

Join me on this rock climbing day trip to one of the best rock walls in the Aosta Valley: the Pilastro Lomasti.

This 200-meter cliff offers dozens of routes of varying difficulty for intermediate and advanced climbers. You'll find high-quality granite and excellent conditions that make for an unforgettable rock climbing outing.

From the village of Arnad, we'll take the road that goes towards Machaby. We'll leave the car after about 2 km at a parking lot and walk the rest of the way to the pilastro. The approach is around 45 minutes long.

Once at the cliff, I'll find the perfect route for you to be able to challenge yourself while also enjoying the day. I'm a local certified guide and know this area like the back of my hand, so I'll find the route that best adapts to your skills and goals.

The best time to visit if from April to October but take into account that it may be too hot to climb during the summer.

If this rock climbing day trip sounds like a good option, contact me and we'll organize our outing to the Pilastro Lomasti. The Aosta Valley is full of interesting options for rock climbing so don't hesitate to ask if you had another spot in mind.

And if you're visiting this area during the winter, check out my ice climbing day trips for beginners. I'll be happy to teach you some of the basics to practice this amazing discipline!

Mountain Guide

Born in Aosta in 1970, I am an aspirant mountain guide and a passionate climber. For me, the lightning strike came in while climbing Punta Tzan with some friends: from that day on, my whole life has been the mountains and practicing mountain sports and activities.
Among my most significant ascents are: Mattehorn, Mont Blanc du Tacul, Aiguille Verte, Monviso and Mont Maudit, among others. I will be happy to guide you around my home region!

Everything was perfect. We had to bring forward the trip due to weather conditions and Remy was very flexible. He made us feel comfortable along the climb and everything went very easily although it was only our second 4000 ascension. He's a very nice and pleasant person. I highly recommend him!

Remy was a superb guide, would really recommend him! Warm and friendly personality. Very professional and knowledgeable, made us (beginners) feel comfortable during the trip. We had a lot of questions beforehand, all communication was clear, fast responses and Remy was always available by mail or phone. Also fast response by Explore-Share. The Gran Paradiso was amazing, especially the views, climb tough but very doable. Next time I would go skiing down instead of hiking.
