While not one of the biggest mountain ranges in the world, or even in the United States, the Wichita Mountains are nonetheless an amazing collection of stunning peaks. And on this 2-day adventure, we would like to guide you to the best spots in the range for exciting rock climbing.
Famous for its quality granite rock, the Wichita Mountains are a paradise for experienced rock climbers. This mountain range is very popular for climbers who enjoy traditional, or trad climbing. For those unfamiliar, trad climbing is a style that favors more freedom than other styles like top climbing, as climbers place their own anchors as they maneuver through their chosen route. It is also a more difficult style of climbing. As a result, it is important that participants on this trip have prior rock climbing experience. You should also be in good physical condition.
Along with the fantastic climbing, the Wichita Mountains are also a wildlife refuge. Hence, why you will probably see an array of wonderful wildlife during your adventure. Finally, the mountain range is also less than a 4 hour drive from the lovely city of Dallas. So, for those visiting northern Texas, who want to escape to the mountains for a few days, this trip is perfect for you.
