El Chalten, a mountain village in southern Argentina, is a perfect destination for both winter and summer adventures. This is your chance to combine mountaineering and skiing on Cerro Electrico, one of its impressive mountains!
Cerro Electrico has three summits and is a popular peak in Southern Patagonia. It is in the Santa Cruz Province, between the Piedras Blancas Glacier and the Electrico River. It is called that way because of the thunder-sound that the wind makes when it hits the slopes.
On this ski touring outing, we will climb to the main summit of this mountain, which is glaciated. From there, we will enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fitz Roy and a huge ice-field. Then we will ski all the way down!
Please note that this is one of the challenging ski tours of the area. You need advanced skiing skills and a good fitness level. For a complete description of the program, you can check the itinerary below.

IFMGA/UIAGM guide from Argentina.
I’m trekking guide since 2009, and became fully IFMGA certified in 2014.
I’ve climbed in many destinations in the Andes in Argentina, and also in Perú, Brasil, France, Spain, Italy and Austria.
I work together with two other colleagues and friends, Indio and Tomás, who are also IFMGA. So if I’m not available to guide you, one of them can do it.
The three of us live in El Chalten, where we practice our profession and develop our passion for climbing and skiing. And we want to share it by opening the doors to all those who want to live their Patagonian experience in a safe and unforgettable way.
We are also committed to mountain training. Therefore, we can give you the basic tools to move in the mountain safely and smoothly. That's why we offer courses for all levels depending on the terrain you want to train. We give lessons of rock climbing, ice climbing, glacier transit and mountain skiing.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
