Come to the West Algarve coastline in northern Portugal for an unforgettable 8-day self guided walking tour!
We will arrange all of the details and set everything up, so the only thing that you need to worry about is what you will order for dinner each night.
Over the course of the eight days our itinerary will take you though some of the enchanting villages and sublime coastline, all of which put this spot on the map as one of Portugal’s top tourist destinations.
From long hikes along the beach, visiting small fishing villages and seeing old-fashioned villas to inland hikes through seemingly endless vineyards, every day of your tour is full of wonderment.
Every day you will have the chance to see something new and unique, from traditional Algarvian towns, not yet developed into tourism hubs, to the unbelievably beautiful Bengali domes caves and iconic raised boardwalk in Carvoeiro.
Each day finishes at the hotel, where you will have all the modern comforts as well as be located within five minutes walking distance from the downtown area of Carvoeiro.
Be prepared to walk an average of 10 kilometers each day and bring extra camera batteries for all the incredible sights you’re bound to see. Don’t worry too much about elevation as we will only be gaining 180 meters or so each day.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at the airport in Faro and transfer to Carvoeiro.
Day 2: Armação Carvoeiro Walk
Make the fascinating walk in between two popular resorts. Enjoy views of idyllic countryside and see some of the area’s historic villas.
Day 3: Ferragudo
Hike along the stunningly beautiful coastline from Ferragudo to Portimão. Visit Ferragundo, a popular and attractive village, en route. Cover a distance of about 9.3 kilometers.
Day 4: Armação de Pêra - Lagoa
Hike through the rolling hills just inland from Carvoeiro. Visit remote villages and get a chance to see the traditional Algarvian way of life.
Day 5: Day off
Spend a free day doing whatever you like. There is plenty to see and do in the area.
Day 6: Lagoa - Carvoeiro
Make the 11-kilometer hike through the center of Portuguese wine region and enjoy amazing views out over the quiet Barrocal landscape.
Day 7: Seven Valleys
Make an incredible 10-kilometer coastal hike along one of the most famous parts of the sublime Algarve coastline, including the famed Bengali dome caves, and finishing on Carvoeira’s raised boardwalk.
Day 8: Departure
Transfer back to the airport.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
