I will take you on an unforgettable trek to see an active volcano in Sicily! You’ll be awe-struck to see deep red streaks of burning lava against the dark evening sky as we hike the Stromboli volcano!
Located on the beautiful Stromboli Aeolian island, Stromboli is one of the three active volcanoes in Italy. It has three craters which emit smoke and lava at regular intervals.
We’ll begin from the quaint Stromboli village 3 hours before sunset. Walking past the beautiful San Vincenzo church, we’ll head towards the volcano (918 m). As we begin to climb, the vegetation begins to disappear, giving way to a rugged landscape. The route rewards us with spectacular views of the blue Mediterranian sea surrounding the island.
We will reach the maximum authorized altitude of 400 meters to admire the Strombolian activity of the volcano! It is remarkable to hear such loud uproars and see all the smoke and light coming out of the craters. The evening sky offers incredible vistas of red-hot lava. There is an explosion every 15/20 minutes and it is rare to see such volcanic activity from such proximity!
After spending about 75 minutes watching this unforgettable show of nature, we’ll descend a steep path to reach the town in 2 about hours.
Don’t forget that you don’t have to be a climbing expert to enjoy this trek. As long as you are fit and used to a bit of walking, you’ll be fine! And the best part, you can experience it with your complete family!
So, what are you waiting for? Send me a message to have a lifetime experience trekking to the Stromboli volcano! Looking for some more adventure in Italy? I also guide this ski touring program in the Maritime Alps!

I live in Cuneo , a little town in South Alps region 100 km from Turin.
We have a lot of wild and beautiful mountains around the town, usually a lot of snow for winter, so as a guide I use to stay around my area during winter and spring time for ski touring and ice climbing.
During the summer as a guide it's better to drive to Chamonix, Cervinia, etc, for climbing the most famous mountains of the Alps.
I born in 30 .07.1969
I love mountains in general, ice climbing, ski touring, climbing or just walking in wild walley.
I speak English and French good level, and I m studying Deutch.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
