7 Days

May - Sep

Description

Would you like to discover the amazing Cordillera Blanca in the Peruvian Andes? Then join me in this 7-day climbing expedition to the summits of the Urus, Ishinca and Tocllaraju mountains.

We will spend 7 unforgettable days! From Ishinca Base Camp we will climb up to the 3 mountains: Urus (5495m), Ishinca (5530m) and Tocllaraju (6034m). They are part of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. Also, they belong to the Chinchey massif, in the Ishinca ravine.

Besides, it is one of the favourites spots for mountaineers. Specially, for those looking for a good acclimatization before climbing peaks of more than 6000 metres.

We will meet in the city of Huaraz. Then, we will travel to Cochapampa, where our donkey driver will be waiting for us. From there, we will start our trek up to the Ishinca Base camp, where we will sleep the next days of the trip.

Then, I will guide you up to the summit of Urus, Ishinca and Tocllaraju, where we will enjoy spectacular views of the Andes! Urus and Ishinca are not tecnically a difficult climb. They will be a good warm up for the more technical climb of Tocllaraju.

So contact me if you want to join me in this expedition to the summits of Urus, Ishinca and Tocllaraju. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the program. You can check the detailed itinerary below this text. Also, If you don’t have much time in Peru, I offer a 3-day expedition to Nevado Ishinca. Check it out!

Mountain Guide

Founder, manager and IFMGA Mountain Guide of Andean Peaks. I work together with my brother Eloy and a team of IFMGA mountain guides, and UIMLA Mountain Leaders. If I'm not available to guide you, one of my qualified colleagues will be your guide.

I was born and raised in the hamlet of Yarush in 1987, at the foot of the Cordillera Blanca. From very young age i was born my passion for the mountains. In 2003 I started as enthusiast to climbing in rock next to my brother Eloy. In 2009 i obtained the title as ''official guide of high mountain''. I enjoy doing sports climbing and opening new routes in the cordillera Blanca, and in other countries. My wide experience has taken me to climb most of the mountains in cordillera blanca.

This guys are great. They are certified mountain guides. The food in the camp was better than the restaurants in Huaraz. You feel safe in their hands all the way to the summit. We climbed 3 mountains in the same tour Ishinca, urus and Tocllaraju. Many thanks to the team they make of the tour a fun place during the climb and in base camp. Totally recommendable

Octavio was very responsive with communication considering he's in the mountains most of the time. Octavio is an experienced guide and very accommodating with teaching new skills and techniques. The trip was well organized with all aspects accounted for making the trips enjoyable. During the climbs I felt I was in good hands all the time. The food was certainly a highlight of the trip, 5 star restaurant quality like and better. Will certainly be returning to climb with Andeanpeaks in the near future. Thanks to Octavio and the team!
