I invite you to join me on an exciting, fun-filled and memorable weekend of backcountry skiing, where we will introduce you to the best and safest skiing and snowboarding techniques, increase your avalanche and ski conditions awareness, and **ski amongst some of the prettiest and most underrated scenery available in the country**, in Lassen, near San Francisco.

Often overshadowed by its more illustrious neighbor Lake Tahoe, Lassen is nestled within the Lassen Volcanic National Park in California, and mostly consists of backcountry, making it a veritable paradise for backcountry skiing and snowboarding. **The lack of crowds make conditions perfect**, as you can go at your own pace and we have plenty of time to take in the gorgeous scenery on offer.

We start by meeting in the evening of the Friday night to run through a safety and equipment check, and then we set off on the Saturday morning for a long day of skiing.

Initially we will be going through avalanche rescue tips, as well as instructions on using the various skis and boards, but once we are through that it is **hours of blissful runs through the tree-lined alpine forests and wide open bowls.**

The second day is much the same, and it is a collaborative process to determine where and when we should go, so as to maximize enjoyment for everyone. The lack of crowds makes everything seem so much more tranquil and idyllic, and **some of the views are truly breath taking in their beauty**.

We finish up on the Sunday afternoon to allow plenty of time for people to get home, and hopefully we are all weary and content after such a fun weekend.
