JMGA Alpine Guide Ski Guide
I am a JMGA mountain guide living in Sapporo in Hokkaido. I have moved around a little in my life; was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in the south of Japan, then from 1998 I lived in Banff, Canada, for 5 years working as a medical interpreter, whilst having fun in backcountry snowboarding! In 2003, I moved to Sapporo in Hokkaido, where I live now, and started my career as a mountain guide. In the summer, I really enjoy tent based Sawanobori (canyoning up waterfalls) trips in Hidaka Mountains, and in the winter, I pursue guiding and enjoying the powder of backcountry snowboarding in a more remote area of Hokkaido with less people. I’ve been guiding backcountry for over 16 years now, have guided climbing and snowboarding all over the world, and today, I currently guide using my splitboard.
Let me take you to my favourite remote off-the-beaten-track sort of backcountry routes!
