The surrounding wilderness is vast and varied, providing a perfect training ground for backcountry instruction.
This is where you come in! Your one-day program is designed to get you settled into the rugged mountains away from the lines and lifts. By becoming proficient in ski touring or splitboarding, you will open up a never-ending landscape of premium conditions and a whole new way to explore the wilderness.
We will focus on the fundamentals of backcountry, including what gear to use and how to use it, safety protocol and avalanche gear, route planning and management, and so much more. You can expect to pick up techniques that will help you travel through the backcountry and how to transition to and from touring mode.
You should be in good shape and be an intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder. Being comfortable and confident in the backcountry is vital to your success and that of the program. If you have been dominating the resort runs and are ready for the next challenge, then this is the trip for you.
