Description

Located in Central California, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadow are excellent backcountry skiing spots!

Heading just over 30 minutes away from downtown Fresno brings you to the stunning mountains of the Sierra Nevada. Take advantage of pristine powder and enjoy great views of the surrounding mountains, forests and valleys.

Access to the numerous lifts in the valleys means that we will be able to check out a number of different spots in our day or more together. We can explore some of these majestic mountain terrains and don’t have to bother with ski skins or much climbing.

Among the highlights of the trip could be heading up to Tram Ridge, though none of our plans will be set in stone. The north-facing area, which is made up of glades, gullies and ridge lines, makes for a fun and interesting backcountry skiing experience.

We may also head to an area known as Munchkins at the foot of Scott Peak. Here, we will enjoy open bowls and steep slopes full of well-spaced trees.

This trip requires at least an intermediate level of off-piste skiing ability.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide.
