Ride the stunning Japanese slopes of Nozawa Onsen with a world-class snowboarder.

I am a Freeride World Qualifier athlete with 15 years of snowboarding experience who intimately knows the mountains of Nozawa Onsen.

The town of Nozawa Onsen is a small and sleepy urban area built around two alpine activities: hot springs and cool slopes. It is located in the northern region of the Nagano Prefecture, home to impressive highland areas ideal for snowboarding.

The prefecture is dominated by mountain ranges along with their scenic beauty, and was actually the host of the 1998 Winter Olympics which speaks to its alpine strength and quality.

It boasts 297 hectares of snowy terrain, as well as an altitude differential of 1,085 meters, thus making it one of the top resorts in the entire country.

Nine of the highest 12 mountains of Japan stand within the borders of Nozawa Onsen. And approximately 21% of the region’s land is actually designated as natural parks.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
