Description

Come with me on a ski tour to a historic mountain hut, or refuge, in Bariloche. We'll spend three days skiing in beautiful northern Patagonia and staying in the mountains.

The hut is actually called Refugio General San Martín, however, it got the name Refugio Jakob due to the lake with the same name that is situated close to the refuge.

What to expect on this trip

The day before the trip begins we'll meet briefly to discuss the activity and to check over your equipment. We want to make sure you have everything you need for the three days.

On the first day, we'll first make our way to Cerro Cathedral before continuing on to the refuge. We'll base ourselves there over the next couple of days and explore all the different slopes in the area. In the evenings we'll be able to enjoy nice warm food and make the most of the hut's modern installations.

On the last day of the trip, we'll take the best route home according to the weather.

Don't miss your chance to spend three days ski touring in North Patagonia. Request to book now and you won't regret it.

You should also check out my 4-day ski tour further south in El Chalten for more adventures on your trip to Patagonia.

Mountain Guide

IFMGA/UIAGM guide from Argentina.

I’m trekking guide since 2009, and became fully IFMGA certified in 2014.
I’ve climbed in many destinations in the Andes in Argentina, and also in Perú, Brasil, France, Spain, Italy and Austria.

I work together with two other colleagues and friends, Indio and Tomás, who are also IFMGA. So if I’m not available to guide you, one of them can do it.

The three of us live in El Chalten, where we practice our profession and develop our passion for climbing and skiing. And we want to share it by opening the doors to all those who want to live their Patagonian experience in a safe and unforgettable way.

We are also committed to mountain training. Therefore, we can give you the basic tools to move in the mountain safely and smoothly. That's why we offer courses for all levels depending on the terrain you want to train. We give lessons of rock climbing, ice climbing, glacier transit and mountain skiing.
