Description

Mt. Putha Himchuli is a stunning peak located in the Nepalese Himalayas. Join me on this expedition to reach its summit. And discover a magical region full of beauty and wonderful traditions.

Unlike Everest, or other iconic peaks in the Himalayas, Mt Putha Himchuli offers a more intimate ascent, less crowded and with views equally mesmerizing.

Mt. Putha lies in the western flank of the Himalayan range in Nepal. And it is north west of the world’s seven highest mountain Dhualgiri (8,167m). It is also known as Dhaulagiri VII, as it inhabits a remote area in the Dhaulagiri Range.

The region in Dhaulagiri has an incredible biodiversity, with unique animal and plants. It also guards some of the most ancient traditions and rich culture.

Mt. Putha Himchuli is not only incredibly rich in nature, it also has a very interesting history. James Roberts and Nepali Ang Nima Sherpa were the first ones to conquer it. Ever since, only those adventurous and willing to put in the time and effort to reach its summit, have been able to stand at its top. And you can be one of them!

The northeast and north side offer less technical difficulties. Thus, we’ll tackle the ascent from this side. Although, over all, this mountain is considered one of the most accessible and straight forward, within the 7,000 range of peaks.

So we’ll begin with a short flight to the city of Nepalgunj, and then Juphal in the Dolpo area. After that, we’ll begin our trek up to the Putha Huichuli Base Camp (4,960m). There, we’ll cross the Tarakot and German Base Camp. Finally, we’ll use the northeast ridge to reach the summit of Mt. Putha Himchuli.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
