Climbing Mount Manaslu

Lakpa, IFMGA certified guide, takes you to summit Mount Manaslu, in Nepal. It's the 8th highest peak in the world and a perfect preparation for the Everest.

Duration49 days

Type of tripNot specified

Mount Manaslu, wth its 8156 meters, is the eight highest mountain in the world. Cross high Larkya La and climb this giant in this long trip!

Manaslu means “Mountain of the Sprit” in the local dialect. It refers to the benevolent and strong deity which dwells within.

Its location, in the upper Gorkha district, at the corner of the Valley Buri Gandaki, is very special. It’s in the shade of even higher mountains, in complete wilderness. Therefore we enjoy the tranquility of the harsh and beautiful nature. Besides, we are in the vicinity of rich old Buddhist culture, religions, traditional villages and farm fields with high terraces. Join me in the discovery of the country of highlanders of Nepal Himalaya.

The ascent is quite challenging. In fact, it’s more difficult than other 8000s. This is why the ascent is considered the best preparation before Mount Everest (which I also guide, check it out here).

Mount Manaslu as nearby the famous Annapurna: only 40 km east of it. Mountains around Manaslu include Ngadi Chuli, Baudha and Himalchuli. This incredible mountain is protected by the Manaslu Conservation Area Project.

During this expedition you will be able to explore the area surrounding Manaslu. For example, Annapurna’s main route.

This expedition starts with a scenic drive to Arughat bazaar, a small market in Gorkha district of Nepal. From here this awesome adventure begins heading to Manaslu Base Camp (4800m), passing several villages such as Jagat, Samagaon.

Above the base camp 4 more camps will be set: Advance Base Camp, Camp I, Camp II and Camp III, needed for reaching the summit.

The program I propose lasts for 49 days. We can of course adapt it based on what you are looking for.

Please get in touch with me if you have any interest. It will be my pleasure to guide you in this fantastic mountaineering adventure.
