Description

If you are looking for a thrilling ice climbing course, this program is for you. Let’s go to Cogne, in northwestern Italy, for an unforgettable 6-day tour!

Located in the Aosta Valley, 1 ½  hour away from Chamonix (France), Cogne (1,534m) is an old community with a great historical and tourist appeal. It lies within the Gran Paradiso Park, which hosts some of the most breathtaking alpine landscapes of Italy.

During the winter, this wild and beautiful area turns into a paradise for ice climbers. There are more than 100 amazing frozen waterfalls in this area, in the valleys of Lillaz and Valnontey.

This 6-day trip (5 of ice climbing course) is for experienced ice climbers who want to improve skills. We will work on mixed climbing abilities on single and multi pitch routes!

Please keep in mind the activity is challenging and intense, so you will need a very good  fitness level. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you.

So, if you are up for this awesome ice climbing course in the Cogne, please get in touch with me. Let me help you improve your skills in a scenic area!

I also offer an 8-day Ice Climbing Expedition in the Dolomites. Check it out here.

Mountain Guide

I am in the mountains all year-round, either guiding a trip or exploring on my own. Mountain guiding is not only my profession and passion but also my inner calling. I am a qualified IFMGA mountain and ski guide.

In 2012, I established my mountaineering school "Mountains" with the motto: Quality guiding on snow, rock and ice. You can count on a low client to guide ratio, reliable gear and high quality programs led by our talented team of guides. We are not adrenaline junkies - we put safety first and strive to meet and exceed all of our clients' needs.

We take great pride in having more than 30% returning clients and would be thrilled to welcome you to our "Mountains" family during your next rock, snow or ice adventure!

Great trip that I'll remember forever, Tal did a great job of managing the logistics of a puzzle with many moving pieces! Both leading guides Jeff and Andi were first class and made the trip. Overall, top notch I would be happy to recommend!

There were several hiccoughs with Explore-share dates in the beginning. But, they got resolved quickly with responsive staff. It was a bit confusing at first because different guides would accept the offer and then fall away. So the early process through ES was a bit confusing. With multiple different emails and multiple different proposed guides that seemed to disappear as quickly as they popped up. This is why ES is rated 4 stars. ES is a good idea but just needs to fine tuned. ES offers a great way to get access to guides when you have few contacts. I think it is a good idea and has a future. The staff were fabulous though at reassuring and updating me. Once the booking was confirmed with Tal Niv we had very good communication over a period of a few months. Tal was organised and in touch frequently. There was a mis-communication in the trip dates (human error) but Tal quickly resolved it and managed to secure us Julian Resch who did an excellent job guiding us on an acclimatisation hike up the east ridge of Weissmies. Julian was easy comfortable company and was very professional. He was patient, encouraging and kind. I would recommend Tal and Julian for anyone seeking an adventure. Good luck ES - we will use you again in the future.

An awesome adventure provided by Tal's company. All requirements were met and schedule was adjusted for the changing weather conditions. It was one of the best guided tours I've experienced so far!
