Climbing Mount Fuji with a Guide (1 Day)

Experience Mount Fuji on a private 1-day guided summit ascent via the Fujinomiya Trail. Starting from the Fujinomiya 5th Station at 2,400 m / 7,874 ft, this route climbs directly toward Mount Fuji´s summit and Kengamine Peak, the highest point in Japan at 3,776 m / 12,389 ft. This is a strenuous single-day climb with approximately 1,376 m / 4,514 ft of elevation gain and loss over about 11.6 km / 7.2 mi round trip. The estimated trail time is 9-10 hours. The trail is not technical, but participants need strong endurance, current fitness, and the ability to maintain a steady pace at altitude. Because this itinerary starts from the Shin-Fuji area near sea level and attempts to reach 3,776 m / 12,389 ft in a single day, it qualifies as a rapid altitude gain. Many participants choose to discuss altitude sickness prevention, including medication such as acetazolamide / Diamox, with a doctor or travel medicine clinic before the climb. This is especially important for first-time high-altitude hikers, anyone who has previously experienced altitude sickness, or anyone who knows they are sensitive to altitude. The guiding style for this 1-day ascent is efficient and pace-focused: climb steadily, spend a short time at the summit area when conditions allow, then descend promptly. Extra stops are kept limited so the group can return safely within the day. The day begins with early pick-up from a hotel in the Shin-Fuji Station / Fuji City area. After driving to the trailhead, the guide will conduct acclimatization time, a gear check, a weather and safety briefing, and a light breakfast before beginning the ascent. Summit success is never guaranteed; the guide may turn the group around, shorten the route, or adjust the plan if weather, timing, altitude Symptoms, or participant condition require a safer decision. Hotel pick-up is available only from hotels in the Shin-Fuji Station / Fuji City area. The standard included drop-off after the climb is Shin-Fuji Station. Travelers staying in Kawaguchiko, Fujiyoshida, Hakone, Tokyo, Yokohama, Mishima, or other areas should arrange accommodation near Shin-Fuji Station before the climb.

Itinerary

Day 1: Biking Tour in Hakuba

After renting your bicycle, we start our journey from Sun Sun Park Hakuba and leisurely ascend the scenic Azumino Art Line. We'll ride along the serene eastern shores of Lake Aoki and Lake Nakatsuna, making our way to the picturesque Lake Kisaki.

As we pass the charming old Jigatake ski resort on prefectural road 325 and enter the tranquil Kurosawa forest road, we'll soon arrive at the Kashima Yari ski resort! This is the easiest route to climb the beautiful Oguma Kurosawa Forest Road.

From there, we follow the ridge to reach the breathtaking Lake Kisaki lookout point. Then, we descend to the lake and take the peaceful western route along its shore, finally returning to our starting point at Sun Sun Park Hakuba.
