In spring (before June), you’ll follow snow-covered trails with expert instruction in safe snow walking techniques while discovering the region’s diverse flora, fauna, and wildlife.

Meeting point
Meet your guide at Matsumoto Station at 10:30 and travel together to the scenic Kamikochi following gear inspection. From there, enjoy 3-hour hike through to reach Yokoo Sanso Hut for a relaxing overnight stay.
Hike from Yokoo trailhead to Mount Chogatake / Hut (about 3.5 hours), taking in sweeping ridge views while your guide shares fascinating insights into the area’s flora, fauna, history, and geography. Check in at the mountain hut and soak up the high-alpine atmosphere.
Descend to Tokusawa for a short break, then continue on a gentle 2-hour hike back to Kamikochi, where the journey concludes amidst some of Japan’s most breathtaking mountain landscapes.

Previous long-distance hiking experience is beneficial, and participants will be asked to provide details of their hiking background a few months before the trip begins. If you have fitness app data, such as from Strava, the guide can use it to help assess your fitness level.
On Day 1 we'll hike for about 3 hours across mostly flat terrain. Then, on our second Day we'll climb with an elevation gain of roughly 1,057 meters. Finally, on Day 3 the plan is to Trek for around 6 hours, including 3–4 hours of descent and about 2 hours on flat ground.
