Join IFMGA-certified mountain guide Eduardo on a hiking trip to the stunning volcanoes in Chile’s Araucania region. Eduardo will prepare a tailored itinerary based on your time availability and preferences.
Araucania is one of Chile’s 15 regions, located in the center of the country. It is bound by the Biobio and Los Rios regions on the north and south respectively, Argentina on the east, and the Pacific Ocean on the west. With a surface area of 31,858 km², Araucania comprises the coastal mountain range, the Central Valley, and the Andes Mountain Range, offering a great variety of landscapes.
Our tour will visit some of Chile’s national parks and natural reserves in the Andes Range. This includes some of the world’s most famous active and inactive volcanoes, many of which are located in the Araucania Region. A few examples of these are the Lanin (3,774m), Llaima (3,215m), Lonquimay (2,865m), Villarica (2,847m), Osorno (2,652m), and Casablanca (2,240m). Along the way, we will explore large glaciers (often on volcano tops), hot springs (such as the Termas Geometricas), massive lakes, virgin forests, and beautiful local wildlife!
Participants can join me on a 1-day trek or on a longer trip. The exact itinerary will depend on guests’ time availability and preferences.
