I have developed this 1-day Avalanche Training Workshop in Vogel. It is especially ideal for snowboarders and backcountry skiers.
Undoubtedly, it is really important to know how to recognize snow and terrains before the skiing time. That’s why I think this avalanche training will be very useful and practical.
The workshop will take place in the Vogel Resort. Here, there is a multi-burial simulation polygon that will help you to understand the real dynamics of avalanches.
We’ll dedicate the first part of the course to the following theoretical content:
Planning a ski trip
Snow conditions
Necessary equipment
Terrain reading
Safety protocols
In addition, I can also suggest other important items to learn, such as:
The use of crampons
Ice axe
Rope skills
Belaying techniques
The rest of the day will take place outdoors. Thus, you can put into practice the snow skills, stability rescues and avalanche training.
Moreover, I can adapt the course to your individual level. But take into account that snow is always changing and it’s often unstable. Therefore, I strongly recommend this course even for advanced skiers.
All you have to do it contacting me now. Please let me know your expectations and I will prepare a custom avalanche training workshop. I can guarantee this experience will improve your skiing performances no matter your technical level.

I grew up in Slovenia with Julian Alps as my backyard. Expeditions to Himalaya started when I was 17, started steep skiing at 15, climbing big walls at 13 and it was a natural progression to BASE jump and to become a mountain guide- a job that feeds my soul. I have been to several climbing expeditions to Peru, Kyrgyzstan, Tibet, Nepal and India.
I'm an IFMGA qualified mountain guide as well as an instructor for future guides, ski instructor, certified helicopter operator and a Heli Ski guide. Although my work took me all over the world my favorite place is still in the Julian Alps. Sharing the hidden places in my Home Mountains with my clients, guiding and teaching them to explore on their own is has been my biggest passion for the past few years.
Mountains are my passion. Winter or summer, climbing, flying through the air or skiing, it doesn't matter to me if I am guiding or having fun with friends. I simply get spaced out when I am in the mountains. Guiding for me is not a job - it is a state of mind and a lifestyle.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
