Description

A fantastic back country skiing route, the Teardrop Trail is a great place to enjoy some beautiful winter scenery. There are also some amazing descents as well.

Located in the Underhill State Park in Vermont, on the west side of Mount Mansfield (1,340m), near Stowe, the Teardrop Trail is a true classic for back country skiers in Vermont.

In existence since the 1930s, the trail is approximately 1.8 miles long and involves a nearly 2000 feet ascent. Steep and arduous, climbing skins are required. However, the descent that you will get to enjoy as a result, while also slightly challenging, as it has several sharp turns, steep drop and double fall lines, is wonderfully exciting and memorable.

Along with being in good physical condition, participants on this trip should also have some prior skiing experience.

By the end of the day, you will have enjoyed some amazing views of Mount Mansfield, as well as the surrounding landscape. You will have also enjoyed some amazing skiing as well. To join me on this expedition, just send us a request. We have no doubt you’ll have a great time.

We also offer a split boarding option of this trip, which you can enjoy here.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!

Nate was very knowledgeable and got me to the top of mountain. He’s not as engaging as most of the guides I’ve had over the years. I’ve learned a lot about most of my climbs as guides talk about the mountain and the area maybe even plant and animals and I enjoy getting to know them better. We did talk a bit more on the way out of the trailhead. All in all a good experience. But not sure your company told him I had a knee replacement and would be slow.
