Venture into the Kanin mountains with Dean, an UIMLA mountain leader and experienced guide. Let him show you the best spots in this stunning place in the Julian Alps in Slovenia.
There are many stunning places to visit in the Kanin mountains. But one of the most impressive is Pogore, that separates the upper Soča valley in Slovenia with the Resia valley in Italy.
The sceneries we’ll get here, look like they came out of the stroke of a stunning painting, or the lines of an inspiring poem. One thing is certain, the inspiration you’ll get from walking around these dazzling lands, will certainly, leave you wanting to explore more.
Moreover, the Kanin mountains offer trails for everyone. Here we’ll find easy hikes where we’ll simply enjoy our surroundings. And we’ll also encounter more technically challenging trails that are highly demanding. But, no matter what you are looking for, the options are just endless!
Additionally the access to this wonderful place is an adventure on its own. As during the summer and winter seasons you can arrive by using a ski lift that leads to the Kanin ski slope. Thus, we’ll get mesmerizing views all throughout our journey.
Due to their unique location, and the great quantities of snow they receive each year, we can take winter tours even in May. The pristine layer of snow that covers these valleys, makes them something exceptional. However, summer has its own charm. With green shades of color, and fresh scents inundating these terrains, it is a real treat walking through them during the summer.

Dean was very attentive to all. Easy to talk to and informative
Dean was very helpful and responsive to our enquiries. He was enthusiastic and devoted to show the prettiest side of Tre Cime to us. Although we were a bit behind, Dean was patient to wait for us and cater to our speed. Great experience!!

Dean is an excellent guide. He\'s friendly and conscientious and throughout or trip was focused on getting us to achieve our hiking goals while being aware of our abilities and experience. We chose a relatively tough hike (8hrs, 1,700m elevation gain) but Dean made sure we completed it safely and at a good pace. He also took photos throughout so we could concentrate on the hiking and shared them with us later. He was also good company on the hike. I would thoroughly recommend his services.
Dean was simply wonderful ! Sure footed and quick to notice when we needed a break. Conversation was easy and he was very pleasant and professional. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely hike with Dean again. What an enjoyable experience!!!

We were looking for a hike suitable for 4 adults with reasonable experience in hiking.Dean not only crafted a 5 day activity for us but was also able to adjust for routes to fit our needs during the hike itself. Dean proved to be a great guide with both knowledge and an amazing attitude and was simply so much fun to be with, Dean also went \'the extra mile\' for us taking some of us to special activities which we did not plan for. If you are looking for hiking in Slovenia and getting an experience of a life time - I would highly recommend Dean. 5 starts all the way (And if there 6 he would get them as well :) ) Dean, thank you so much !
Dean was prompt and super knowledgeable about the area we were going to. He guided us safely to Slemenova Spica to enjoy the Julian Alps. As two girls from the city, we don\'t have much hiking experience, and he was patient and super helpful. We enjoyed our trip so much and it has been the highlight of our Slovenia trip. Thanks once again, Dean, for taking us on this experience!
He guided us to really fun hiking depending on the weather ,our skill and preference. We had a great time.
Dean is a super experienced guide, he is very qualified to do all sorts of mountineering too if you are interested to try. I had a good time learning how to do snow shoeing and he is very patient in teaching me and assessing my abilities to suggest different routes which is suitable for my build and stamina. It was great and safe to have him as a guide because he knows the terrain well and that is good to know.
