4 Days

Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct

  • Discover the beautiful Slovenian Alps led by a true expert in the area
  • Go hiking, mountain biking, rafting and canyoning - all in 4 days
  • Climb to the summit of the famous Mt. Triglav, the highest peak in the country

If Slovenia is all you’ve been hearing about lately, then you must come and see for yourself what all the hype is about.

This 4-day multi-adventure program will be a great introduction to everything the stunning Julian Alps have to offer its visitors and, if you are up for it, you will even get to climb the famous Mount Triglav (2,863m)!

During these four days, I’ll take you Hiking, Rafting, Mountain Biking, Canyoning, Via Ferrata, Rock climbing or even zip-lining in the beautiful area around the scenic Lake Bled. A symbol of Slovenia’s beauty, Lake Bled and its fairy-tale castle are the number 1 tourist destination in the country.

We’ll organize the program together, according to your wishes and expectations. But to give you an idea of some of the possible activities, I’ve put together this program.

On Day 1, we’ll go mountain biking around Lake Bled. There are itineraries for all levels, from beginners to really experienced mountain bikers, so I’m sure we’ll find a challenging one for you and your group.

On Days 2 and 3, we could climb Mount Triglav. Triglav is the highest peak in Slovenia and an important part of the country’s identity: in fact, it is pictured on its coat of arms. Triglav can be climbed year-round although the ascent is definitely more challenging during the winter.

If you’d like a more mellow (but still challenging) hike, we could spend Days 2 and 3 hiking around the Seven Lakes Valley and the Komna-Soca Valley. The first of the 2 days can be spent going from Blato Meadow to the hut by the Seven Lakes and then on to Konma Hut. This area is one of the most beautiful parts of the Julian Alps! On the second day, we can either go back to Blato through a different trail or continue all the way to Bovec, known as Slovenia’s water sports center.

And then finally, on the last day, we can do some scenic driving around Triglav National Park stopping every 10-30 minutes for points of interest and different activities – including short hikes, swimming and rafting. Some of the landmarks we’ll see on this day tour are Lake Bled, the Karavanke Mountain Range, Kranjska Gora, the Soca River, Velika Korita Soce, Bovec, Kobarid, Boka Waterfall, Kozjak Waterfall and Bohinj Lake.

Alternatively, if you’d like more of an adrenaline rush, you can choose to devote Day 4 to rafting and maybe even some canyoning or zip-lining!

This 4-day trip is a great way to discover Slovenia and the stunning Julian Alps. I’m a Slovenian IFMGA-certified guide and know this area like the back of my hand. I will be happy to take you to all my favorite spots and to help you discover everything my beautiful country has to offer.

About the guide

I am a UIAGM mountain guide, ski instructor and sports teacher and the current president of the Slovenian Mountain Guide Association.

I am still the only guide who can make a living working exclusively in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country over 200 times.

If you want to climb or ski in Slovenian mountains I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, heliski, freeride skiing and ski touring.

Slovenia has good options for all of these activities, so you are welcome to take a look at my trips and find something for yourself. If you don't find anything let me know and I will see if I can help you!

I speak English. Ich sprache auch ein bischen Deutsch. Parla anche un pocho Italiano e abla tambien un po Espanol.

If I am not available to guide you, one of the super experienced guides in my team - Rok, Peter, Grega or Igor - will be your guide.

We had an excellent time with our guide Marko, who looked after us from start to finish. The trek through seven lakes valley was immensely beautiful, Triglav itself was quite an experience - not for the faint-hearted. Mitja’s communications ahead of the holiday we’re very clear and Marko made sure our mini-adventure was paced correctly for us, everything was organised and we were safe and looked after every step of the way.

We have been in contact with Mitja Sorn since before the Covid pandemic, so over 3 years now. Mitja has always been very responsive and clear. He was professional and answered all of our questions. Unfortunately, Mitja was not our guide for the hike to the summit. A week prior to our hike, we were contacted by Igor who informed us that he would be leading our group on the actual summit attempt. Similar to Mitja, Igor promptly replied to any emails we sent, and showed genuine concerned when he thought our starting point for the hike up to Kredarica was too long of a hike. When we met Igor at the hut the evening before the climb, he was very helpful with looking over our itinerary for the rest of our time in Triglav National Park and suggesting alternative routes. However, when rain delayed the start of our the summit attempt by about 3 hours, we saw a different side of Igor. During our climb up to the summit and back down, Igor was on a mission to just get us to the top and back down. Enjoyment of the journey was not a priority. He barked orders at us. For example, when we repeated what he had said to my brother in the back who wasn't able to hear him, Igor scolded us, saying he's the guide and the only one to give directions. He ignored our needs and scoffed at any issues we had. For example, the rope had trapped my hand on the iron rod so I told him I had to remove the rope before I can keep moving, because that's what his refrain was the whole hike, "Keep moving!", Igor admonished me and said not to worry about the rope, that was his job. Same thing happened when my husband had the rope between his legs and asked for a moment to get it out from under him, Igor told him not to worry about the rope. No, these were matter of concern for us. If safety was Igor's first concern, like he said, his actions did not prove it. My sister-in-law asked for a minute's rest so she can have some water, Igor's answer was that "Water is not the answer to the problem." and he tried to rush us up. For most of the ascent, the clouds were thick all around us. For a brief moment, the skies opened up, and we were able to see the hut below us. My brother asked to stop for a brief second to take a picture, and Igor refused. My brother pointed to the summit, which was all in clouds and said this may be the only time that we have a view. It only took him about 30 seconds to snap some pictures, only pictures Igor allowed us to take on the way up and down because we forced him to stop. Igor's rushing and lack of respect for our concern took the pleasure out of the whole climb for us. We are a group of 5, so my oldest brother was in a different group with Mateo. My brother showed us pictures from his phone where his group had stopped for everyone to take pictures and enjoy themselves and different points on the way up and down. With Igor, we were deprived of this. Usually, the guides we have had on many different excursions all over the world are knowledgeable about their area and would provide us with interesting information about the area. We did not learn one single fact about Triglav during our time with Igor. When we returned to the hut, we finally learned why. Igor had to rush back down to the valley. We are not sure if it is a personal matter or if he was booked for another tour later that day. Whatever the reason was, for the amount of money we paid, 170 Euros a person, our experience was not worth the price. What we have learned from this trip is to make sure that our guide is not double booked on the day of the summit attempt because all they will be worried about is getting down to their next appointment.

An unforgettable trip. Communication throughout the whole process from asking questions, booking and rescheduling because of the countries flooding was easy and efficient. The hike was extremely fun and supportive. Rok our guide maintained an attainable and enjoyable pass up to the hut. It was my first time doing via ferrata and although a little nervous in the beginning it was the best part. I would highly recommend booking through explore, you won’t regret and will create a memory for the books.

Climbing Mont Triglav with a group & Mitja as guide was an amazing experience. Really glad I did this and not try it on my own - it felt super safe and comfortable and it was also super fun with the group. Mitja was great at pacing the group to the right level; gently pushing us a bit on the last stretch of day one so we would avoid the rain / snow, which we (almost) did. Then on day two, he made us start before sunrise, which on my own I would never have done, but it was amazing. We were among the first on the top, had the clearest and most amazing view (which however he said is rare). On the way down then, encountering so many on their way up, it was clear that starting any later and the crowds on the peak - and on the ascend - would be quite something else (even though, because of the storms and bad weather leading up to our ascend, it was only a third of the usual high season traffic). Throughout, he made us feel safe, encouraged us, even complimented us and made us push ourselves a bit, in a good way, and also entertained us with anecdotes and with a lot of regional, historical and mountaineering knowledge. I really, really recommend this experience!
