Description

Located east of Bolzano, near the beautiful Sella pass and the town of Canazei, the Rosengarten group consists of a number of gorgeous peaks. It is the perfect place for great rock climbing. And on this trip, which can last for one or more days, I will take you to the best spots, so you can enjoy the best routes.

There are several fantastic climbing highlights in the Dolomites of Italy. And the Rosengarten group is most certainly one of them. The group is full of spots that contain short routes, medium routes and long, more challenging routes. Thus making this trip open to people of different skill levels. However, no matter your skill level, due to the arduous nature of rock climbing, all participants should be in good physical condition.

Very popular in the summer, it is not uncommon for there to be crowding on the climbing routes in the Rosengarten group. However, I will do my best to guide you to the spots where there are fewer people, but the views still breathtaking.

If you are looking for a great rock climbing area in the Dolomites, then the Rosengarten group will definitely satisfy you. The mix of amazing views and stunning limestone makes the area truly spectacular. To join me, just send a request. I look forward to guiding you.

Mountain Guide

Hi! I'm Renato, IFMGA guide from the Dolomites, and I work together with my colleagues Robert, Bruno, Patrick, Benedetta & Walter (German speaking). If I'm not available to guide you, one of them will take care of you.

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Renato was not available but he recommended another guide, Robert. I was jetlagged and had barely eaten in 24 hours. It was short notice on my part and I wasn't fully prepared when I showed up. Despite all of this, he was so patient and we made it through the tour. The views were amazing and he took pictures and video during.

Great intro to via ferrata. Our guide was Roberto and he was great. He was at the meeting point waiting for us and was very thorough in checking our equipment before we got onto the climb. He gave us tips along the way as to what to look out for, how to find footholds, etc. He took photos with his phone along the way, and forwarded them to us afterwards, so that we weren't fumbling for them ourselves. Very professional and recommendable.

Our excursion landed on a rainy day and Etienne was great at suggesting alternative options in light of the weather. We ended up having a lot of fun despite the rain and having lunch with locals is a great travelling experience in itself! Thanks to Etienne and Fernando for a great day!
