Description

The Shawangunk Mountains, located only 1 1/2 hours north of New York City, are a legendary spot for rock climbing. In this half-day outing you will get to the top of one of its major cliffs, SkyTop, with an expert guide.

The Gunks, also known as the Shawangunk Mountains or the Shawangunk Ridge, extend from northern New Jersey to the Catskill Mountains. They are part of the Appalachian Mountains, which stretch from Newfoundland, Canada to central Alabama, U.S.

This is a 3.5 hour tour in one of the most popular rock climbing spots in the United States. The SkyTop cliff is owned by the Mohonk Mountain House and has more than 300 routes ranging from 50 to 150 feet.

If you have no climbing experience at all, and also if you want to improve your techniques, in SkyTop we will find the perfect route for you. Two of the stellar climbs in this area are Foops (5.11) and Super Crack (5.12+).

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide.
