Description

Have you ever dreamed of reaching a summit over 5000 meters of height? So this 3-day ascent to the Huamashraju is perfect for you!

Let me help you make your dream comes true. The Nevado Huamashraju is a pyramidal mountain near the city of Huaraz. You can even see it from any point of the town. However, you will admire a really amazing view once you're at its summit.

First, we will get to the starting point of the ascent route by a taxi. It will take us at the end of the road on the other side of the Pitec valley. Now, it's time to hike!

When we start the walk the trail becomes steep for the next 4 hours. After that, we'll be finally in the base camp. However, if it means too much effort to you, don't worry. There are donkey options all along the way. You can hire one to help you carry your luggage.

Once in the base camp, we'll have several ascent options to get to the Huamashraju summit. We can climb the glacier through its two ways or we can try a climb via the left ridge or its north wall.

As for the left ridge it has only one hard section. In fact, I think it is the best alternative for those without too much experience. The north wall has more technical sections but with no major difficulties.

If you'll go down via the same route you ascended, remember to bring some belay gear. On the contrary, if you decide to mix the alternatives, you can ascend through the left ridge or the north wall and descend by the glacier. In that case, you will need 3 or 4 pickets.

The Huamashraju is a great option as a technical acclimatization climb. It is also a good idea if you don't have so many days in the area. In addition, if you are short of time but want live a big experience, I recommend my hiking adventure through the Santa Cruz Trek. It can be done in 5 days or less.

I will lead a group between 2 and 15 participants. I don't have an open group yet so I can open a new one for you and your friends! The best season to come is from April till November.

So, contact me for more details or if you want to start with the booking process. I will be happy to guide you up to that 5434-meter summit!

What people are saying about Peru

He was very kind, patient and helped me to reach my goal the citadel of Machupicchu. One day I wanted to quit but he encouraged me to continue and waited for my step.

We did the MTB-Huarascan-Circuit (Crossing Punta Olimpica Pass and Portachuelo de Llanganuco Pass) with Eric Albinos „Peru Expedition“. All, the transfers, the hotel stays, the acclimatization tours and the circuit itself, was well organized. Eric and his staff were flexible to our wishes and very helpful. Our Guide Joni is an excellent mountain bike-guide and good tailor too if something is torn. The cook prepared delicious meals during the circuit. The camping equipment was in very good condition. We (Karin, Franz. Wolfgang) can fully recommend „Eric´s Peru Expeditions“.

The agency gave me a guide Darwin, not Juventino. Climb was good, easy just walking. There is one dangerous section near the moraine area with very loose gravel. So make sure you don't slip there or you are dead. I stayed in refugio at the base camp which was much more comfy than camping. Darwin was good but give clients some breaks once in a while, not rush too much. It's a high altitude climbing after all.
