Description

On this introductory level course on back country skiing, we would like to guide you on some great routes on the three sisters peaks in central Oregon.

The third, fourth and fifth highest peaks in the state of Oregon, the three sisters vary in height from 3,063 meters to 3,158 meters. Located in the Cascades mountain range, these three peaks are a marvel of the Pacific Northwest.

During this course, we will instruct you on a number of important aspects of back country skiing. Thus making your transition from resort skiing to skiing in the wild much more comfortable, safe and enjoyable. Some examples of what we will cover during this course include teaching you about the necessary equipment, skinning techniques, route identification, instructions on avalanche beacon usage and various rescue techniques.

In addition to what you will learn during this course on the three sisters, you will also get to enjoy some tremendous views of the Cascades. Full of peaks, valleys and vast forest, you will get to see nature at its best. And when it comes to the descents, we have no doubt you will experience thrills you will never forget.

To see the three sisters in Oregon is an experience worth having. However, getting to back country ski on the three sisters takes that experience to another level. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Nate was very knowledgeable and got me to the top of mountain. He’s not as engaging as most of the guides I’ve had over the years. I’ve learned a lot about most of my climbs as guides talk about the mountain and the area maybe even plant and animals and I enjoy getting to know them better. We did talk a bit more on the way out of the trailhead. All in all a good experience. But not sure your company told him I had a knee replacement and would be slow.
