Description

Levada dos Cedros is one of the water channels that crosses the main island of Madeira. Come and discover its wonderful surroundings on this 1-day hiking program. You will love it!

Our hike will start in one of the most beautiful areas of Fanal where we’ll be surrounded by gorgeous old trees at an altitude of 1,300 meters. From there, we’ll descend until we reach the Levada dos Cedros. On the way, we’ll find the lovely ancient trees typical of the Laurissilva Forest and contemplate breathtaking views of the Ribeira da Janela valley. Apart from the flora, we will have the pleasure to see part of the local fauna, such as the lovely birds.

Regarding the level of difficulty, consider that we’ll cover a distance of around 7 kilometers and face an elevation gain of 300 meters. However, the hike is not very demanding so it’s only necessary to be in good physical shape.

So, would you like to walk along Levada dos Cedros on this 1-day adventure? Then all you have to do is send the request to book your place on this program. I’ll be happy to be your guide and share everything I know about the island with you!

Another good option in Madeira could be this hiking program across the Levada do Alecrim. Check it out!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
