Mount Toubkal (4,167m) 6-day guided splitboarding ascent

Standing at 4,167 meters (13,671ft), Mount Toubkal is the highest peak in Morocco, in northern Africa, and in the whole Arab world! It is located in the country’s southwest, within the Atlas Mountains, a range that stretches over 2,500 kilometers across Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, in the Maghreb African region.

The Atlas Mountains are a perfect winter destination for climbers and skiers. They offer great backcountry terrain, amazing snow, and breathtaking views to massive high snow-capped mountains and vast valleys.

Our trip’s meeting point will be the city of Marrakesh, 63 kilometers north from Mount Toubkal. From there, we will travel to the small village of Imlil (1,740m), at the base of the Atlas Mountains, which will be our splitboarding tour’s starting point. Every day, we will traverse across almost-untouched slopes and valleys up and down Mount Toubkal. If time permits, we will also be able to ascend other surrounding peaks, such as Akioud (3,900m), Ras n’Ouanoukrim (4,015m), and Imeghras (3,900m).

One of the tour’s highlights is we will spend the nights in comfortable mountain huts, managed by local people, allowing you to experience Morocco’s unique, rich culture firsthand!

I will take a minimum of 4 people on this trip and a maximum of 8. However, if you are less than 4 travelers, we can discuss alternatives and prepare a program tailored just for you!

While Mount Toubkal is not a technical summit, it features some challenging sections. Therefore, participants are required to have some previous splitboarding experience, as well as to be in good shape.
