Description

With so many different ways to climb Slovenia’s beautiful Mount Triglav (2,864m) it would be difficult for anybody to choose the right one. With that in mind, I would like to present several different options. The first, and main option is the popular, and challenging, German route. This beautiful path to the summit of Triglav takes approximately 6-10 hours. Thus making this trip a full day affair.

Covering approximately 1000 metres, the German route to the top of Triglav is a gorgeous climb. Known as an iron route this route consists of solid rock with several difficult areas spread throughout. Hence making it a constantly challenging, though not overbearing, climbing path. However, those difficulties are amply rewarded when you near the top of Triglav because the views you will receive at the upper areas, followed by the peaks’ summit, are absolutely spectacular.

When it comes to the other 2 options I offer on this trip, they are wonderfully diverse. The first option is the Zimmer-Jahn variant. This offshoot route breaks off from the German route, and is only 800 metres. Hence justifying why it is often known as the short German route. Contrasting the Zimmer-Jahn variant is the other option on this trip, the North ridge route, which is much longer than both of the other options, as it is approximately 1,300 metres.

Each one of the routes on this trip are unique in their views and the challenges they offer. However, they will all provide you with an unforgettable experience. So if you want to scale Triglav on any one of these amazing routes, just send me a request. I would be happy to guide you.

Are you just starting your mountaineering career, but still want to climb Triglav? If so, I can also lead you to the summit on the much easier Slovenian route.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
