Description

Campo Imperatore (italian for “Emperor’s Field”) is an alpine meadow standing  above the Gran Sasso massif in Italy. I am an expert local guide and would love for you to join me on this 2-day hiking tour where we will explore the highlights of this beautiful area!

Located within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, this scenic location is known as Little Tibet. It has an area of approximately 80 km2 and lies next to the Apennines’ highest peak, Corno Grande. In spring, summer and fall, it gets covered with deep green grass and wildflowers.

This 2-day hiking trip will take us to some of the most amazing spots of the Campo Imperatore surroundings: Chiarino Valley, the Malecoste, Venacquaro Valley, Sella dei Grilli and Pizzo Cefalone. In addition, we will spend a night in the charming Fioretti mountain hut!

For this outing you need to be an expert hiker, the altitudes are really high and we will head up some exposed sections. Therefore, you will also need a good fitness level.

So, if you are up for this hiking adventure in the wildest area of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, please contact me. I’ll be glad to guide you through this unique natural setting!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
